information with you. Currently, I am 19 years old and from a small
town in Nebraska. I was in Nursing School for one year and made the
decision that that wasn’t what I felt like God was calling me to do, so
I transferred to Grace University in Omaha. Because of my passion and
desire for missions and other cultures, I am majoring in Intercultural
Studies with a health emphasis and Bible. I hope to get my Public
Health degree someday so I am able to teach health overseas. Africa has
been on my heart for some time now. I was once told that God places a
nation or country on our heart specifically because we have something
unique to bring to that place. Amazing huh?
As for my family, my father and brother went to be with Jesus when I
was 4 years old and grew up in a single-parent home with my 2 sisters
and 1 brother. My mom has become such a godly woman because of this
experience. Now she is married to another man, my step-father, who has
2 sons and 1 daughter. One of his sons married my sister. Crazy huh?!
But I am finally realizing how blessed I am because of this.
My spiritual walk with Christ has definitely increased since I’ve gone
to college. Being in a small public high school was a very difficult
challenge and hard to just be “set-apart”. But my faith and strength is
increasing gradually through all my experiences I’ve had. This trip
makes my heart melt with passion. I can not even express the love I
want to show the African people.
